Appointed as the second Chancellor of INTI International University on 15 July 2025, Yang Amat Mulia Tunku Dato’ Seri Utama Naquiyuddin ibni Almarhum Tuanku Ja’afar is a respected royal figure, corporate leader, and advocate for education with extensive experience in diplomacy, business, and philanthropy.

He holds a Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Economics from the University of Wales, Aberystwyth, and began his career with Malaysia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, serving at the Malaysian Embassy in Paris. He later assumed leadership roles, including Executive Chairman of Antah HealthCare Group and directorships in several public-listed companies.
A strong supporter of education, he founded Yayasan Tunku Naquiyuddin and chairs the Tuanku Ja’afar Educational Trust and College Tuanku Ja’afar, championing access to quality education for underserved communities.
His contributions have earned numerous local and international honours, including France’s Legion of Honour. As Chancellor, he guides the university’s commitment to academic excellence, leadership, and nation-building, drawing on decades of service to Malaysia, both locally and internationally.

Currently Chairman of NanoMalaysia Berhad under the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MOSTI), he was the Founding Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) and formerly Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), where he began his career after earning his doctorate from the University of Leeds. A Fulbright Scholar, he has contributed extensively to national education, science, and technology councils.
He has served on the boards of UKM, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM), and the International Medical University (IMU). He remains active in policy development through platforms such as AKEPT and RSOG.
As Pro-Chancellor, he brings deep insight into higher education reform and academic-industry collaboration, advancing INTI’s mission to produce future-ready graduates.

He holds a doctorate in Knowledge Management from the University of Malaya and an MBA from Oklahoma City University. A chartered accountant and fellow of several national and international accounting bodies, he is also a certified auditor, tax agent, liquidator, and financial planner.
Dato’ Dr. Chua has served as Adjunct Professor at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia, Universiti Malaysia Sabah, and Oklahoma City University. He is a frequent international conference speaker and has led numerous programmes in performance management and business transformation.
Active in charitable and leadership initiatives, he has received multiple accolades for corporate leadership and entrepreneurship. At INTI, he plays a key role in strengthening innovation, excellence, and graduate employability through closer academic-industry ties.
