As many families continue to remain affected by Malaysia’s current economic standing, a few parents shared their appreciation for INTI International University & Colleges’ (INTI) scholarship programmes and financial assistance that felt like a blessing during these difficult times.

Nadhirah Chin Abdullah, mother of Mohammad Kyle Iman, shares that the industry that she works in has almost entirely shutdown due to the pandemic, which has adversely impacted her livelihood and means of supporting her family of four.

“As a result, I’ve had to look into reducing our household expenses, including maintaining a viable monthly budget befitting mine and my husband’s savings, while considering other sources of income for my family,” opened up the 57-year-old mother of two.

“It has not been easy, but I am thankful that my family and I are still well, healthy, and safe,” expressed Nadhirah.

She shared that she was relieved when her son was awarded INTI’s Chairman Award as soon as he enrolled into INTI International College Subang’s American University Programme, because it allowed her to channel her savings into maintaining her household.

“Kyle worked very hard to get outstanding grades too, so I am proud that he was awarded with the scholarship,” she said.

Meanwhile Cheng Eng Keow, mother to Chong Wen Xin, shared that she was just as grateful for her daughter’s scholarship award because it has helped reduced her family’s expenses too. She also wanted to compliment INTI’s overall scholarship programme and its selection process in particular, after observing her daughter go through the process.

“In my opinion, INTI has been considerably more generous in their scholarship and financial assistance programmes compared to other educational institutions, so credit should be given to them.

“I am also appreciative of how carefully INTI considers each of their scholarship candidates, because the entire process felt sincere when my daughter was going through it,” said the 47-year-old mother of two girls.

Her daughter, Wen Xin, is currently pursuing her A-Levels at INTI International College Subang and she hopes to be a great lawyer in the future.

Dr Jane Lim, Chief Executive of INTI Subang, shared that similar to the scholarship and financial assistance programmes provided to Wen Xin and Kyle, INTI offers a variety of other scholarships and award opportunities for potential students who are keen on pursuing their tertiary education.

“With our nation’s current circumstances, we understand the significance of any kind of financial support rendered by higher education institutions to students and their families.

“We are glad to be able to offer some assistance to potential students because they deserve the world-class education that INTI has committed to providing,” she said.
