Working adults and individuals seeking an alternative to daytime classes can now sign up for a specially-tailored evening business degree programme at INTI.
Beginning its first intakes on April 9, 2012, the programme, which awards the BA (Hons) in Business Administration, is offered at INTI’s campuses in Subang Jaya and Kuching in collaboration with the University of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom. An award-winning business educator, the University of Hertfordshire has been touted as the top new University for teaching and learning and is recipient of the prestigious Times Higher Education ‘Entrepreneurial University of the Year’ award in 2010.
Evening classes during weekdays give students added flexibility and better control over their studies while managing their day jobs, says Sotheeswari A. Somasundram. |
“As competitive demands grow in global economies, so does the emphasis on the development of professionals who are able to drive entrepreneurship and innovation. At INTI, we recognise this need and that some students or working adults may face challenges in pursuing the knowledge needed to navigate turbulent markets. This is why we have opened our business degree to those who have the desire to excel and move forward through quality education,” said Ms. Sotheeswari A. Somasundram, Head of the School of Business at INTI International College Subang.
INTI hopes to open a pathway for students to earn a prestigious internationally recognized degree without having to incur the high cost of tuition and living expenses usually associated with pursuing tertiary level qualifications abroad. Holding classes in the evening during weekdays gives students added flexibility and better control over their study aspirations while managing their day jobs.
Additionally, students gain local access to the same content taught in the UK and will receive a degree from the University of Hertfordshire upon completion. As the leading business-facing university in the UK, the University of Hertfordshire is focused on developing new and creative approaches to learning, teaching and research with a commitment to adding value to employers, enterprise and regional, national and international economies.
Students in pursuit of a business degree also gain exposure to real-world projects and industry-oriented learning via industry visits, guest lectures and actual projects by major industry players. INTI’s reputation as a well-respected institution of high quality education is founded on strong relationships with businesses and employers through its Enrolment to Employment (E2E™) initiative. Additionally, the INTI Business Advisory Board, which consists of key industry players like KPMG, PricewaterhouseCoopers Malaysia, Deloitte and Ernst and Young, review the curriculum requirements to ensure that INTI’s modules and graduate outcomes meet employer needs.
