Dr Dominic Szambowski Takes the Reins as President of INTI International College Subang

The pace to upgrade INTI’s city campus to a formidable centre for world-class higher education has quickened with the elevation of Dr Dominic Szambowski as President of INTI International College Subang (IICS).

 

With an extensive senior level background in education management in Australia, Switzerland and the USA, Dr Szambowski joined INTI in June 2011 from Blue Mountains International Hotel Management School (BMIHMS) in Australia as Executive Dean – Hospitality, Culinary Arts & Tourism. His responsibilities included the provision and creation of hospitality education across the INTI group which also called for the strengthening of strategic industry alliances with partners such as Hilton Kuching and Borneo Convention Centre Kuching.

In February 2012, he assumed a new role as Acting Chief Executive of IICS and began overseeing the RM 40 million redevelopment of the campus to bring about an institution that is modern, distinctive, spacious, functional and conducive to teaching, learning and recreation. In his latest role as President, he will spearhead student-centred learning approaches and pedagogy to deliver effective learning outcomes. Having a highly experienced and qualified name leading IICS’s faculty is one of the many changes taking place within INTI that continues to shape the landscape of the education sector in Malaysia.

Dr Szambowski has held Student Life and Academic positions at State University of New York; International College of Management, Sydney; the University Centre César Ritz, Brig, Switzerland; and Paul Smith’s College, Paul Smiths, New York, USA.

 

He has a Bachelor of Arts, Communications; a Master of Science, Education; a Certificate of Advanced Study, Counseling from State University of New York and a Ph.D. in education, University of Sydney, researching intercultural training methods for use in hospitality education.
