INTI’s Students Gain Insight into the Future of Business from World’s Thought Leaders

October 22, 2012

Despite taking place more than 15,000 km away in New York City, the World Business Forum (WBF) 2012 created a profound and life-changing impact on students of INTI, who were able to witness the event in Malaysia thanks to Laureate International Universities’ Laureate Live platform. This is among the many benefits availed to INTI’s students and their counterparts across the Laureate network to ensure a truly international educational experience.

Transmitted to INTI’s campuses nationwide via the platform, WBF featured a powerful network of business leaders sharing knowledge, best practices and cutting edge insight to build better businesses. Among the top personalities featured were Sir Richard Branson, entrepreneur and founder of Virgin Group; Robert Gates, former Secretary of Defense of the United States; Fareed Zakaria, journalist and CNN presenter; Michael Porter, author and business strategist; and many others.

INTI’s students enjoy regular access to a truly international learning experience.

Ebrahim S. Yusufali, a BA (Hons) in Business Administration student at INTI International College Subang (IICS), found the World Business Forum to be both beneficial and interesting.

“I attended the session by Michael Porter, who is a leading authority on company strategy and the competitiveness of nations and regions. Having read many of his books on business and economics, I found it a real treat to be able to watch his dynamism and charisma on screen. It was really good to be able to go beyond the traditional mediums of instruction and learning to acquire knowledge and understanding,” said Ebrahim.

Internationalism is an important pillar that holds up institutions of the Laureate network and the opportunity for members such as INTI to gain access to knowledge, thought processes, best practices, academic talent and resources across the distances makes this ‘Laureate advantage’ a unique one. President William J. Clinton serves as The Honorary Chancellor of the Laureate network, a role in which he offers advice on social responsibility, youth leadership and increasing access to higher education. In his 2010 visit to INTI, he addressed more than 1,000 students and invited guests and inspired many others.

“Through Laureate’s support, we are able to provide our students with front-row seats to cutting edge global events such as the World Business Forum and Clinton Global Initiative, where they can learn from top global leaders discussing issues affecting our world today,” said Dr Dominic Szambowski, President of IICS. “This provides our students access to an international learning experience beyond Malaysia as part of their studies and as part of their world class education at local prices.”

Students of INTI benefit not only from the institution’s over 25 years of experience and strong track-record, but also gain from the global synergy and resources that Laureate International Universities provides. INTI is part of Laureate – the world’s largest and fastest growing private education network – which has a presence in 29 countries, with more than 60 accredited campus-based and online universities and 130 campuses, serving over 740,000 students globally.
