INTI International College Penang is launching its first-ever mobility programme which is set to provide international students with a unique and engaging learning experience, while also promoting Penang and Malaysian culture.
The programme’s soft launch, held on 20 April 2023 at the vibrant Alkira Café located in the INTI International College Penang campus, was made possible through collaborative efforts with the Penang Centre of Medical Tourism, StudyPENANG, and Tech Dome Penang. The partnership represents a significant milestone in promoting the programme and clearly demonstrates INTI’s commitment to providing students an outstanding educational experience, driving the internationalisation agenda, and increasing the enrolment of international students in higher education institutions in Malaysia.
“Our mobility programme is designed to provide international students with a fun and interactive experience that promotes knowledge-sharing and cultural exchange. We are committed to providing an outstanding educational experience for international students and look forward to welcoming them to our campus,” said INTI International College Penang chief executive Hemalatha Murugiah.
According to Hemalatha, the mobility programme was designed to meet the needs of students from abroad. One of the programmes offered, for example, allows international students to improve their communication skills and command of the English language while having a blast exploring Malaysia’s colourful blend of cultures.
The mobility programme offered by INTI International College Penang is a short-term study programme expected to attract international students who want to gain knowledge through a hands-on learning experience and also make new friends along the way.
The six-day programme is packed with activities that encourage communication and presentation. Participants will also be able to take in Penang’s unique cultural heritage, find out more about local customs and traditions, and join interactive science and technology activities.
“In today’s interconnected world, proficiency in effective communication is a highly sought-after skill, and this programme provides students with an opportunity to develop their communication skills in a practical and immersed environment,” shared Hemalatha.
She also believes that the programme has the potential to increase INTI’s visibility as a higher education brand at the global level. The programme gets an added boost through collaboration with Penang state government agencies, in which INTI leverages on their expertise and infrastructure to provide students with a one-of-a-kind learning experience.
She added, “This programme can serve as a platform for international collaborations and partnerships in the future, as well as position INTI on the world map as one of the top private universities for higher education.”
