INTI’s A Level Students Stand amongst the World’s Best

March 25, 2011

The results of the Cambridge A Level examination in November 2010 released recently confirm that outstanding performance is achievable at INTI College Sarawak (ICSK). The 100 percent pass rate of the students indicates they have what it takes to be ranked among the best in the world.

Lee (left) and Ng proudly show their excellent results which will help them fulfill their educational goals.

Lee Hong Jong obtained straight A’s which included 3 A*’s and I A. She has achieved percentage uniform marks of 99 percent in Chemistry and 93 percent in Biology and Mathematics.

“Our lecturers went the extra mile to assist and encourage students who had problems in their studies. As classes were kept small, we received individual attention,” said Lee, an INTI scholarship holder who aspires to become a dentist or pharmacist and hopes to further her studies at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

“I for one kept asking questions in class when in doubt and our lecturers always enlightened us,” she added.

Close behind Lee is Alvin Ng Yuan Liang who scored 3A’s and 1B. His decision to enrol into ICSK’s Cambridge A Level programme was based on the College’s excellent reputation and track record as a quality education provider.

“Apart from my own efforts to enhance knowledge and understanding, such as working hard and self-studying, I have to thank my lecturers for their close guidance, without which success would have been harder to achieve,” said the former student of SMK St. Thomas Kuching.

Ng, also an INTI scholarship holder, aims to pursue a medical degree at the International Medical University (IMU) in Kuala Lumpur. His excellent grades, which include a score of 92 percent for Chemistry would certainly give him an edge over many other aspiring medical students.

The Cambridge A Level is a ‘gold standard’ qualification that opens the doors to higher studies in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, Engineering and Law at prestigious universities around the world. For students who enroll in ICSK’s March intake, the qualification can be obtained in one year and four months.

Students who enroll at ICSK can take advantage of the extensive facilities available on campus. These include the library and its comprehensive collection of books, journals, periodicals and other publications. All classrooms and lecture halls at ICSK have audio-visual, media and computing facilities to aid learning in class.

Apart from the library, there are also online digital libraries to aid in research. All students have access to state-of-the-art computer facilities. There are the latest PCs and workstations with speedy Internet connection, bundled software suites and commercial programming software in multiple IT labs built for project work and multimedia production as well as software and Internet programming. Wi-fi hotspots are available throughout campus, giving students the freedom to work anywhere.
