INTI International University & Colleges recently signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) with Xavier University, a non-profit private higher education institution in the Philippines, which will promote and strengthen an academic partnership to advance teaching and learning, employability, and research.
The agreement will see both universities collaborate on efforts such as Study Abroad Information Open Day, academic programmes, student exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes, academic funding and visiting scholar programmes, curriculum mapping, design, and development, and more.

According to Kok Wai, the agreement between INTI and Xavier University is a steppingstone to various educational initiatives that will benefit students on an international platform.
“It is a privilege for all of us at INTI, to be given an opportunity to collaborate with a highly reputable university in the Philippines which has over eight decades of experience in education, to initiate exciting projects involving curriculum, exchange programmes, academic research and more,” he said.
Father Mars Tan, President of Xavier University is confident that the strategic partnership will broaden horizons for both institutions.
While INTI has academic partnerships with universities around the world, it has just started expanding its partnership with institutions in the Philippines. He said such international collaborations contribute to how INTI innovates education to enable students to become the game changes of tomorrow.
Quoting Ralph Ellison, Kok Wai said: “Education is a matter of building bridges. This partnership with Xavier University is the bridge that will allow both institutions to exchange academics, cultures, and worldviews. Together we will build ways to empower students to lead the world of tomorrow and I am both honoured and grateful to be a part of this incredible initiative.”
Meanwhile, Father Mars Tan, President of Xavier University, expressed his excitement towards the partnership saying that it is another milestone reached.

“This collaboration is timely as we are preparing to move to our new campus in Manresa, where we need innovations of the curriculum, refining of our programme structure and articulation, while adapting to the new normal,” he said.
He added that he was pleased that the MoA would also allow for other collaborations that would be mutually beneficial to both institutions.
“Hopefully we can share and learn from each other in different fields of academic learning and development. This partnership is relevant to both institutions because I believe that aside from academic collaboration, each institution has a prominent history, culture, experience, and many other aspects that we can share with students and faculties. This collaboration is beyond our institutions; it is a promise we are making to both Malaysia and the Philippines to continue nurturing students of potential and calibre,” he concluded.
