Over five days, 15 lecturers and two staff members from INTI International University’s Faculty of Education and Liberal Arts carried out a USR outreach programme across eight Orang Asli villages in Negeri Sembilan, reaching more than 400 families through more than 20 visits.
The team visited Kampung Orang Asli (KOA) Bukit Kepong, KOA Palebar Baru, KOA Sunggala, KOA Bari, KOA Kelapi, KOA Charik, KOA Batu 17, and KOA Sawah, distributing essential supplies, including food items, rice, and cooking oil.
About 80 kilogrammes of rubbish were collected from Bagan Lalang Beach in Sepang during a clean-up organised by the University of Hertfordshire (UH) Club at INTI International College Subang.

INTI delegates distributed essential supplies to more than 400 Orang Asli families across eight villages in Negeri Sembilan.
The outreach was carried out with the understanding that some Orang Asli families may face challenges in accessing necessities, educational resources, and wider economic opportunities. Beyond providing material assistance, the programme also created opportunities for interaction and relationship-building between volunteers and the communities they visited.
According to FELA lecturer Dr Muhamad Sa’dan Abdul Aziz, who also served as programme director, the visits allowed the team to engage more closely with the communities while contributing to broader social and sustainability goals.

Volunteers conducted sustainability knowledge-sharing sessions inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals during the outreach programme.
“Through these engagements, we hope to contribute to community well-being, sustainability awareness, and inclusive social impact,” he said.
The initiative was made possible through the GreenRise Market Programme, which brought together student fundraising, community service, and outreach activities under a free-market approach.
As part of the programme, more than 700 students raised RM35,500 through various fundraising efforts such as sports tournaments, food and drink sales, and cleaning services. Under the MPU3206 Community Service course, each student group was encouraged to raise at least RM500 to support the programme’s objectives.
Through the GreenRise Market Programme, essential goods, educational materials, and basic skills were shared freely with underserved communities. The initiative aimed to nurture empathy, civic responsibility, and real-world learning among students while building respectful and long-term partnerships with Orang Asli communities in Negeri Sembilan.
The outreach also included sustainability knowledge-sharing sessions inspired by the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as educational research with Orang Asli families to better understand local needs and opportunities for inclusive development.

Programme volunteers also conducted educational research with Orang Asli families to better understand local needs and opportunities for inclusive development.
In addition to supporting community well-being through the distribution of essential goods, the programme focused on encouraging volunteerism, facilitating educational support for Orang Asli children and families, and fostering collaboration between educational institutions and local communities.
The initiative reflects INTI’s broader commitment to sustainability and meaningful social impact through student involvement, academic participation, and community engagement
