Taking Advantage of Courses Collaborated With International Universities

February 3, 2021

University collaborations between local and international universities are increasing rapidly to deliver world-class higher education for students across the globe. By establishing global partnerships with overseas universities, it opens doors for both local and international universities to organise student exchange programmes, research collaborations and more as listed below.

Taking Advantage of Courses Collaborated With International Universities

1. Enhanced Course Curriculum

When it comes to studying a course programme designed by globally-partnered universities, students can experience the best of both worlds! Course syllabuses that are created through university collaborations offer a significantly wider scope of core subjects and attractive electives for students to choose from. They will also be taught by educators from both local and international universities while learning together with their foreign classmates. Industrial training may also be provided for hands-on learning. Besides that, students can also initiate a research collaboration with their local or overseas academic supervisors to publish a co-authored paper internationally.

2. Dual Award Degree

Dual award degrees refer to a partnership between two universities to present a single jointly-delivered degree, leading to two separate certificates awarded by the two institutions. In other words, studying a dual award degree allows you to obtain two graduating certificates! For example, a student of Master of Business Administration (MBA) will be awarded one certificate by INTI International University and Colleges in Malaysia, while obtaining another certificate from the University of Hertfordshire in the United Kingdom. Receiving a dual accreditation upon graduation will no doubt increase your employability, attracting potential employers from big-name companies to hire.

3. Opportunity to Study Abroad

International student exchange programmes are one of the main highlights borne from a university collaboration. Study abroad programmes allow students to either study overseas for one semester or complete their studies abroad during their final academic year, exposing them to different cultures, languages and lifestyles. INTI’s UK Degree Transfer Programme (Law) is one of the available law twinning programmes in Malaysia, collaborating with international universities and major law schools from the UK. Among them are the University of Sheffield, the University of Liverpool Law School and the University of Leeds. All qualifications are recognised by the Bar Standards Board in the UK as well as the Legal Profession Qualifying Board of Malaysia, which conducts the Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) examination.

4. Transferable Credits

Participants of student exchange programmes can apply for university transfer credit based on the criteria set and agreed by the home and host universities. Successful credit transfers can help such students to graduate on time and in some cases, improve their overall academic grades. At INTI, we offer credit transfer among international partner universities in the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and other countries. Study abroad programmes will give students an added edge of qualification while expanding global perspectives.

INTI International University & Colleges have partnered with some of the most renowned international universities in the world, such as the University of Hertfordshire (UK), Southern New Hampshire University (USA) and others to offer students quality education with international standards.
