INTI’s Career Services team organised their first Networking Dinner in Shanghai, China, on 16 April at the Shanghai International Studies University Guest House. Professor Dr Joseph Lee, Vice Chancellor of INTI International University, graced the event. The reunion was heartwarming as alumni fondly recalled their time at INTI, reminiscing about their favourite cafes and hangout spots.
With a legacy spanning 38 years, INTI takes pride in its approximately 100,000 alumni worldwide, a testament to its commitment to excellence. Many alumni have carved a niche, achieving remarkable success in their fields. Naomi Yang, Assistant Vice President of Career Services, highlighted these achievements: “Our alumni have not only excelled as entrepreneurs, expanding their ventures to Malaysia, but also hold esteemed positions in government-linked organisations and contribute significantly to multinational companies.”

The alumni’s unwavering commitment to their alma mater was at the heart of the gathering. They expressed a strong desire to give back, offering various forms of support such as sponsorship, industry awards, mentorship, and sharing valuable insights with juniors. Li Ye, a 2005 graduate and current general manager at Chongde Huijin Tianjin Environmental Technology Co. Ltd, encapsulated this sentiment: “It’s wonderful. When I was a student, we didn’t have such friendly activities. Experiencing this 20 years later shows the progress of the school!”
Recalling his academic journey at INTI, Li Ye remarked on the institution’s transformative impact: “INTI provided me with a Western education model that broadened my worldview and equipped me with the analytical skills to navigate multicultural challenges.” His advice for current students resonated with wisdom: “Participate in more club activities at school. It’s a great opportunity to forge friendships, immerse yourself in local culture, and explore the beauty of nature.”
Looking ahead, Yu Hua, a 2002 graduate and current chairman at Fuzhou Minjiang Hanya Art High School, envisioned fruitful collaborations: “Students from Hanya High School could greatly benefit from studying at INTI.” Meanwhile, Zhang Jinru, a recent graduate now working as an auditor, expressed mixed emotions about the reunion, likening it to a heartfelt family reunion after a prolonged separation.
Deng Pengfei, a 2023 graduate now lecturing at Yunnan Vocational College of Transportation, credited INTI’s academic guidance for shaping his professional journey, singling out mentors like Dr. Rachel, Dr. Ng, and Dr. Anantha for their invaluable support. Shawn Guo, a 2001 graduate and Vice President of Xiamen Hongji Weiye Composite Technology Co., Ltd., outlined his ambitions to bolster INTI’s visibility and foster cross-cultural exchanges.
The event underscored the enduring camaraderie among INTI alumni and the profound impact of an INTI education. As new collaborations take root, the spirit of INTI continues to illuminate the path for future generations, promising a legacy of excellence and unity.
