Students from INTI International College Subang’s School of Business and Communication (SBC) joined forces to organize the “Splash for a Cause” charity event on 30 June. Their primary objective was to raise funds to provide essential grocery items and support underprivileged B40 families residing in Subang Jaya, Puchong, and Seri Kembangan.
“The event had a dual purpose: assisting those in need while fostering leadership and management skills among the student representatives. To kick off the event, a vibrant bazaar featured 20 vendors offering delicious food, refreshing drinks, and stylish accessories. This initiative not only supported small and medium-sized enterprises within INTI but also contributed significantly to the local economy and communities.

As evening approached, the event transformed into a water gun festival, inspired by the lively Songkran tradition. Over 200 students gathered with excitement, sharing laughter and playfully spraying water. This event exemplified their commitment to spreading joy and unity while supporting a charitable cause.
Caroline Manuel Pillay, a Diploma in Mass Communication student, expressed her pride in being part of an event that positively impacts the community.
She said, “Many families are facing financial burdens and struggling to sustain themselves adequately. I believe that my participation in this event has offered valuable assistance to these families, allowing them to experience a more comfortable life for at least another month.”

She added, “Never hesitate to approach someone you think may need assistance. Even if you consider your contribution to be insignificant, that small amount can mean a great deal to others. Kindness does not require financial resources, so it is crucial that more people take the initiative to demonstrate kindness.”
Through their collaborative efforts, they thoughtfully assembled a remarkable total of 30 sets of essential household grocery items, valued at RM3,600, which were promptly delivered to the Subang Jaya Social Welfare Office on 7 July. Each set included 10kg of rice along with instant noodles, sardines, Milo, creamer, sugar, flour, cordial drinks, and a variety of seasonings.
Siti Baqiuratul Zahraa’, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Business and Communication, expressed how happy she was upon delivering the donations.

William Tan Kai Xian, a student pursuing the Diploma in Business, shared that the community was delighted to witness the active participation of young individuals in this project.
“While busy packing and organizing the goods, some people who were waiting at the welfare office approached us and inquired about the source of the donations. We proudly responded that the students of INTI Subang contributed these. Their gratitude was expressed through handshakes and thumbs-ups, which filled us with a sense of appreciation,” he mentioned.
The impact of the charity event did not end there. The students have now taken up positions at the Subang Jaya Social Welfare Office, where their unwavering dedication will continue to have a meaningful impact on the lives of the underprivileged. By actively engaging in noble endeavours such as supporting the less fortunate, assisting the elderly, and caring for the bedridden, these student representatives are determined to lead a future characterized by kindness and generosity.
Loroshaan Sivakumar, a student pursuing the Diploma in Marketing, feels a deep sense of pride in raising awareness through the project.

“The simple act of creating awareness for a charitable cause alone serves as a motivation for my participation. Additionally, the organizing committee could create lasting joyful memories for participants to cherish, while also coming together as a cohesive team to successfully organize such a significant event, all in the spirit of charity,” he said.
The remarkable bond formed through “Splash for a Cause” has ignited a flame of compassion within the INTI community. With each charitable endeavour, they aim to create a brighter future, one where empathy and selflessness serve as guiding beacons for a more inclusive society.
