INTI Students Impress at Alibaba GDT Bootcamp

INTI International University & Colleges participated in the Alibaba GDT Bootcamp & Pitching Challenge 2024, an event designed to immerse students in the latest trends and tools shaping e-commerce and digital business. Students from INTI International College Subang, INTI International College Penang, and INTI International University joined the virtual experience organised by Alibaba Global Digital Talent (GDT).

The event featured industry leaders, including Chandee Zhuang, Senior Advisor at Alibaba Global Initiatives, who shared insights into Alibaba’s digital ecosystem and global impact. Participants also benefited from a practical boot camp led by Yvonne Teo, Seller Engagement Lead for Lazada Malaysia. Teo guided attendees through strategies for effective e-commerce practices, customer engagement, and data-driven market analysis.


Chandee Zhuang, Senior Advisor at Alibaba Global Initiatives, shares insights on Alibaba’s digital ecosystem, encouraging participants to explore the evolving e-commerce landscape.

Among 12 competing teams, “MickeyClub House” from INTI International College Subang secured the top spot. Their pitch focused on addressing unpurchased items left in online shopping carts.


Teams present their innovative e-commerce solutions during the Pitching Challenge, showcasing creativity and strategic thinking in addressing real-world digital business challenges.

“We aimed to find a way to re-engage customers with the products they abandoned,” shared a team representative. “This opportunity to present our ideas to industry leaders was invaluable.”

Participants received Alibaba GDT lanyards and e-certificates, while the top teams earned a visit to Alibaba’s headquarters in Hangzhou, China. They will engage in an entrepreneur program there, gaining industry insights and networking opportunities.

By bringing together students from multiple campuses and providing direct exposure to industry expertise, the event offered a practical and engaging platform for learning and innovation. Students were able to refine their skills, tackle real-world challenges, and connect with global leaders in digital commerce, further strengthening their readiness for a competitive market.
