“The partnership not only enables students to pursue the Kendall College Diploma in Culinary Arts right here in Malaysia, it also means that INTI’s students will have access to lectures at Kendall College via INTI’s online learning tools and regular visits by academics from Chicago,” said Dr Dominic Szambowski, INTI’s Executive Dean – Hospitality, Tourism & Management.

“At Kendall College we strive to go beyond traditional learning to cultivate the essential skills needed to achieve hospitality and culinary excellence. We look forward to extending our philosophies to INTI’s students and are excited to work with lecturers to enhance international and real-world exposure for their students,” said Chef Chris Koetke, Kendall’s Vice President, School of Culinary Arts and noted host of TV show Let’s Dish.

Ranked No. 1 in the Midwest and recognized as providing one of the top five B.A. programmes in the US**, the School of Culinary Arts has been committed towards the professional development of its students. Nearly 100% of its culinary graduates are placed in positions that meet their specific career goals. Kendall graduates work in some of the finest restaurants in Chicago, across the United States and around the world. Its alumni include chefs such as Michael White, who was awarded a Michelin star in 2009 for Alto, his restaurant in New York City; Mindy Segal, who received 2012 James Beard Foundation Award for Outstanding Pastry Chef; and Jose Garces, named the Food Network’s sixth “Iron Chef”.

Both INTI and Kendall College are part of Laureate International Universities, the largest and fastest growing network of private universities in the world. Internationalism is an important pillar that holds up institutions of the Laureate network and the opportunity for members such as INTI and Kendall College to share knowledge, thought processes, best practices, academic talent and resources across the distances makes this ‘Laureate advantage’ a unique one. INTI’s two year Diploma in Culinary Arts course at its campuses in Subang Jaya and Kuching provides a global study perspective and hands-on training opportunities for students as they are guided by some of the world’s leading experts in hospitality.

INTI enjoys close links with leading hotels such as Hyatt Regency Kinabalu, Shangri-La Tanjung Aru Resort & Spa, Grand Dorsett Labuan, Crowne Plaza Mutiara Kuala Lumpur, Impiana Hotel KLCC and many others. This enables INTI’s students to experience internship with the hotels and gives them a head start in the food and beverages line. By having relevant hands on experience, they are able to develop new skills and aptitudes that cannot be acquired in a classroom.

Students of INTI benefit not only from the institution’s over 25 years of experience and strong track-record, but also gain from the global synergy and resources that Laureate International Universities provides. INTI is part of Laureate, which has a presence in 29 countries, with more than 60 accredited campus-based and online universities and 130 campuses, serving over 740,000 students globally.
