INTI Sabah Welcomes the Lunar New Year with Refurbished Campus

March 9, 2018

In welcoming the 2018 Chinese Lunar New Year, INTI College Sabah (INTI) organized a soft launch of its newly refurbished campus. Welcoming close to 20 industry partners including Hong Leong Assurance, Hilton Kota Kinabalu, and the Sabah Society for the Blind, the celebrations were an opportunity to thank these partners for their ongoing collaborations with INTI, while also giving them a first look at the revamped Sabah campus.

“2018 kicked off on an auspicious note for us as we welcomed industry partners, students and staff to a beautifully revamped campus. These refurbishments, which are part of our ongoing plans to modernize our facilities, were driven by our desire to provide a conducive learning environment for our students – taking into account their comfort, the suitability of spaces for group and individual study and an overall atmosphere that encourages learning,” shared Roselyn Chua, Chief Executive of INTI.

The day started with performances by the talented students from SJK (C) Yick Nam who performed a lion dance, and a traditional Chinese 24 drum troupe by the students from SJK (C) Hwa Shiong. Industry partners and other invited guests were then treated to a campus tour, which highlighted INTI’s newly renovated lobby area, student lounge, computer laboratories, classrooms, and Resource Center.

The Resource Center drew special attention due to its unique features comprising an open study area, an area for individual studies as well as an area for rest and relaxation.

“At INTI, we recognize the need for academia to adapt to the needs of today’s students, both in terms of teaching methods and lifestyle. Alongside our innovative learning and curriculum delivery that leverages technology, we also wanted to include comfortable spaces for students to take a break and recharge, and be able to do so within the safety of their campus. These changes are reflective of INTI’s efforts to work alongside our students to better understand what they are looking for in a holistic learning experience,” explained Chua.

The event concluded with a traditional Chinese lunch including the much anticipated ‘lou sang’ and performances by students and staff.
