INTI Lecturers Recognized with Swinburne Teaching Excellence Awards

Four educators from INTI International College Penang (IICP) have been honoured with the Teaching Excellence Awards from Swinburne University of Technology for the August 2024 semester. The recognition highlights their dedication to quality education and their impact on student learning.


Dr. Gan Kia Hui, Lecturer and Head of Programme at the Center for Australian Degree Programmes (CADP) at INTI International College Penang, accompanies students to a sustainability-focused external event, reinforcing real-world applications in education.

Presented by Swinburne Global Academic Director Dr Adam Baker, the awards recognise lecturers who achieve a teaching scale score of 9.0 or higher and meet additional criteria for student response rates. The recipients from INTI International College Penang are:
• AnniMalar Muthuraman, Dean, Center for Australian Degree Programmes (CADP)
• Dr Gan Kia Hui, Lecturer and Head of Programme, CADP
• Muhamad Amirul Faiz bin Abd Ghani, Lecturer and Head of Programme, CADP
• Dr Vinesh Maran Sivakumaran, Senior Lecturer, CADP

AnniMalar Muthuraman emphasised the importance of personalised instruction, stating, “Tailoring my teaching methods to diverse student needs ensures all learners thrive in an inclusive, innovative environment.”

Dr Gan Kia Hui articulated the role of practical applications in learning, explaining, “By bridging theory with real-world experiences, we prepare students to excel in a competitive, global job market.”


Muhamad Amirul Faiz, Lecturer and Head of Programme, CADP at INTI International College Penang, leads an interactive session to equip students with industry-relevant media skills.

Muhamad Amirul Faiz highlighted the significance of critical thinking and collaboration, noting, “Empowering students through dynamic teaching methods inspires them to achieve their best.”

Recognised for his exceptional delivery in three subjects during the semester, Dr Vinesh Maran described the award as a validation of INTI’s commitment to excellence, adding, “This affirms INTI’s dedication to world-class education and our commitment to developing future-ready graduates.”
INTI’s emphasis on technology-driven and industry-focused education has been central to these achievements. Through employer projects, industry guest lectures, and collaborative case studies, students gain valuable hands-on experience.
