INTI International University Launches IPRMSA INTI Chapter

INTI International University officially launched the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia Student Association (IPRMSA) INTI Chapter on 29 November 2023, marking a key milestone within its Faculty of Business and Communications (FBC). This event ushers in a new age for students interested in public relations and communication, bringing them together with industry professionals.

The IPRMSA INTI Chapter provides students with a robust platform for developing their knowledge, honing their talents, and building professional networks in public relations. Students have unique access to industry leaders, make vital connections, and learn practical skills that complement their academic goals through painstakingly planned workshops, seminars, and networking events.

According to Chong Kok Wai, CEO of INTI International University & Colleges, the effort demonstrated INTI’s dedication to developing PR experts who appreciate the importance of their work.


Chong Kok Wai, CEO of INTI International University & Colleges, and Jaffri Amin Osman, President of IPRM, jointly opened the IRPMSA INTI Chapter. Wong Siew Fong, Pro Vice-Chancellor at INTI International University; Doris Lim, Director at Matrix Communications; Dr. Joana Jaya, Head of the Programme for the Faculty of Business and Communications at INTI International University, and Ameira Nur Iliany, Lecturer in the Faculty of Business and Communications at INTI International University were all in attendance.

“This chapter will serve as a training ground for future PR professionals who understand that PR is not just about crafting messages but also about making a difference in society,” he stated in his opening remarks.

Jaffri Amin Osman, President of IPRM, underlined the organisation’s persistent commitment to developing the next generation of PR professionals. He said, “Establishing the IPRMSA Chapter at INTI International University demonstrates our commitment to promoting student learning and professional development. We are confident that this collaboration will prepare students to flourish in the highly competitive field of public relations.”


Jaffri Amin Osman, President of IPRM, delivered a speech at the launch of the IPRMSA INTI Chapter.

The launch event was attended by renowned dignitaries, devoted faculty members, and passionate students. Distinguished industry professionals, including Jaffri Amin Osman, Dr Maliki Mohamed Rapiee, Secretary General of the Asian Youth Council, Faiz Suhaimi, President of Malaysia Disability Youth Council (MBOKU), Chris Wong Man-Pooi, a video creator with Tourette syndrome, and Syahida Johan, a lecturer at UOW Malaysia KDU, inspired the audience with their stories and experiences.

Wong Jing Wen, President of the IPRMSA INTI Chapter and Bachelor of Mass Communication student at INTI International University, expressed her excitement for this historic launch.

“We welcome students from all Mass Communication majors to participate in IPRMSA. We want to build a thriving community of PR enthusiasts who will drive positive change within INTI. “This collaboration is consistent with our commitment to providing students with comprehensive learning experiences and preparing them for successful careers in the dynamic field of public relations,” she stated.

Along with the opening, the IPRMSA INTI Chapter launched “The Able” Campaign, a genuine effort to raise awareness and celebrate the varied abilities of differently-abled people. This campaign encourages inclusion, understanding, and appreciation for the various skills and perspectives contributing to a more diverse society.
