INTI establishes academic collaboration with Central Mindanao University

INTI International University & Colleges (INTI) and Central Mindanao University (CMU) have signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) that will see significant collaboration to promote and strengthen academic initiatives.

In a virtual ceremony on 17 February 2022, the agreement was signed by Chong Kok Wai, Chief Executive Officer of INTI International University & Colleges, and Dr Jesus Antonio G. Derije, President of CMU, in a ceremony attended by representatives from both universities.

The MoA will allow both parties to cooperate on activities that are mutually beneficial such as study abroad opportunities in Malaysia, academic progression, placement, and enrolment for various programmes at INTI, mobility student exchange programmes, faculty exchange programmes, academic funding and visiting scholar programmes, as well as curriculum mapping, design, and development.

“Higher education drives the development of a nation, and it is vital that we can take advantage of each other’s strengths through cooperation and capacity building,” said Kok Wai during the signing ceremony.

He added that through various initiatives and exciting projects involving curriculum, exchange programmes, academic research, and more, both parties can share and gain new knowledge, ideas, and approaches to push the boundaries of knowledge and understanding.

Meanwhile, Dr Jesus Antonio G. Derije remarked that CMU is positive and committed in supporting the collaboration with INTI in order to ensure the plans and initiatives are carried out.

“On this day, we shall officially seal the partnership by signing the memorandum of agreement and verbalising our words of commitment to formally validate our support to each other,” he added.

CMU is the biggest public university in Mindanao and one of the Top 10 universities in the Philippines.
