INTI International University Book Donation To Benefit Students From Seven Schools in Negeri Sembilan

INTI International University donated some 3,000 books of various genres to selected schools in Negeri Sembilan. The initiative, a collaborative effort of the Tan Sri Abdul Majid (TSAM) Library, Admin and Facilities Management (AFM), and Student Services Department (SSD), would benefit more than 2,000 students by providing reading material to enhance their knowledge and encourage a love for reading. The book collection ran for two months involving the INTI community and was part of the University Social Responsibility (USR) planned this year.

According to Mohd Sabirin Mohamed, Chief Librarian of INTI International University, the team had arranged for the books to be distributed to SMK Dato Mohd Said, SM Nilai Impian, SR Nilai Impian, SMK Taman Forest Heights, Nilai Polytechnic, Port Dickson Polytechnic, and Negeri Sembilan Matriculation College. He said SMK Nilai Impian and SK Nilai Impian were new schools which especially welcomed the contribution.

“Books are essential to schools and students. This contribution for INTI marks a new chapter for the schools at Nilai Impian and we hope it will create a positive this can build a promote a strong reading culture among students,” he said.

Pu’at Mohd Haron,  senior assistant (co-curriculum) at SMK Nilai Impian, said as the school is new, there are facilities that are still lacking such as books.

“Students will have a wider selection of books to choose from which will create an interest in reading. I’m grateful for the support given by INTI,” he said.

Shahrohan Yaakob, senior assistant (administration) at SK Nilai Impian, said the extra books would bring a lot of joy to the students and schoolteachers.

“Because our school is still new, the selection of reading material is limited. Having access to quality books mean a lot to us. These books from INTI will bring a smile not only to the faces of students but also teachers,” she said.

Mohd Shaiful Anuar Shariff, senior assistant (administration) at SMK Taman Forest Heights, said he is humbled by INTI’s effort and generosity.

“Many schools do not realize the importance of refreshing the old books in their library, we are grateful for the amount of support shown by INTI, and we do hope that we can collaborate more in the near future,” he concluded.
