INTI International University has advanced 36 places to rank 86th in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027, up from 122nd in the previous edition, placing it among Asia’s top 100 universities.

INTI International University ranks 86th in the QS World University Rankings: Asia 2027, advancing 36 places to secure a position among Asia’s top 100 universities.

The university also ranks 11th in Malaysia in this year’s rankings, which feature more than 1,700 universities across 26 higher education systems. The achievement comes as INTI celebrates its 40th anniversary.

International engagement remains a key strength for INTI, which achieved perfect scores of 100 out of 100 in four indicators: Inbound Exchange Students, Outbound Exchange Students, International Student Ratio and International Faculty Ratio. These indicators assess the university’s international student and faculty community, as well as students’ participation in exchange programmes.

Alongside its international strengths, INTI recorded gains in recognition among academics and employers. Its Academic Reputation ranking improved by 44 places to 117th, while Employer Reputation advanced 27 places to 90th. The university also moved from 61st to 37th for Faculty Student Ratio.

Dr Chong Kok Wai, Chief Executive Officer of INTI International University & Colleges, said these results provide a foundation for extending INTI’s reach and the opportunities it offers.

“This combination of strong international engagement and growing recognition among academic peers and employers puts us in a better position to expand our partnerships, attract talent and create more opportunities for students,” he said.

“As our presence in Asia grows, so does our ability to connect people, ideas and opportunities across borders.”

INTI’s gains come amid increasing competition among universities across the region. Commenting on the broader rankings results, QS Senior Vice President Ben Sowter said:
“This year’s rankings provide an important benchmark for a region that continues to shape the future of global higher education. They show institutions combining research excellence, international engagement and academic reputation continuing to strengthen their positions, even as competition intensifies across Asia’s increasingly diverse and rapidly expanding university landscape.”

Professor Dr Joseph Lee, Vice-Chancellor of INTI International University, said the result was a collective achievement. He thanked staff, students, alumni, industry partners and international collaborators for their contributions and emphasised the need to keep improving the education students receive.

“What matters most is the quality of education we deliver, the trust we earn, the experience we provide and the capabilities and achievements of our graduates,” he said
