INTI International University has launched the INTI Innovation Gallery, a dedicated space to showcase innovative research by faculty and students. Located on the ground floor of the Learning Resource Centre at INTI’s Nilai campus, the Gallery reflects the university’s focus on research that addresses real-world challenges and encourages collaboration across disciplines.
Kughanya A/P Kumaran returns to Malaysia carrying the Malaysian flag and her UH FLARE 2025 trophy, welcomed at the airport by her proud family after winning the international business pitch competition in the UK.
Visitors to the Gallery can explore a rotating display of research outputs, including final-year projects, competition entries, prototypes, and industry-linked initiatives. The exhibits change regularly to highlight ongoing innovation across various fields.
Dr. Chong Kok Wai, CEO of INTI International University & Colleges, said the INTI Innovation Gallery was created to improve the visibility of the university’s research activities. “We often tell people we are actively engaged in research, but we have no central space to show what we’ve done. This gallery answers that need. It’s dynamic, and we expect new ideas and innovations to come in every month or quarter.”
He added that the Gallery also supports INTI’s wider strategy to redesign teaching and learning spaces so they can accommodate both education and research activities.

The product exhibited is part of Dr. Kumutha’s project, Immersive Technology in Language Classrooms: Empowering Learners with Virtual Reality.
Aligning with this direction, Professor Ir. Dr. Malathy Batumalay, Head of the Centre for Data Science and Sustainable Technologies, described the Gallery as a reflection of the university’s research culture. “This is a space where passion meets purpose. Every display here is the result of collaboration between students and mentors, and between academic teams and industry partners. It’s a celebration of what we can achieve when research is given the right platform.”
Research activities showcased in the Gallery are part of a broader sustainable research ecosystem, anchored by five ESG-focused Research Centres:
• Centre for Data Science and Sustainable Technologies
Focuses on AI, IoT, big data, and innovative technologies for sustainable development.
• Centre for Sustainable Engineering Solutions
Explores resource-efficient engineering, green materials, and climate-resilient infrastructure.
• Centre for Health, Well-being, and Environmental Sustainability
Researches the impact of environmental factors on public health and promotes sustainable healthcare practices.
• Centre for Education and Sustainable Development Strategies
Develops new teaching methods and education models with sustainability at their core.
• Centre for Sustainable Business Innovation and Corporate Responsibility
Advocates ethical governance, ESG-driven business models, and responsible entrepreneurship.
Together, these five centres form the foundation of INTI’s Centre for Sustainable Research and align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The university is also a signatory of the Race to Zero campaign and a member of the Higher Education Sustainability Initiative (HESI), further reinforcing its long-term commitment to sustainability.
By encouraging active participation in research, the INTI Innovation Gallery contributes to a culture of sharing, learning, and practical innovation. Projects may stem from competitions, course requirements, or industry collaborations, all offering opportunities for engagement across the academic community.
