INTI Hosts Women Leaders at the Northwood University Annual Business Forum

April 4, 2013

The voice of women has become increasingly significant across the globe as they take on leadership roles in diverse sectors of society, bringing management and leadership styles that deserve full attention and appreciation from the public. At INTI International College Subang (IICS)’s NU Business Forum, the voice of women resonated with an audience of students witnessing three women leaders expound the rising role of women in today’s business environment.

Dr Lisa Fairbairn, Dean of DeVos Graduate School of Management, Northwood University, USA; Ng Wan Peng, Chief Operating Office of Multimedia Development Corporation; and Rasilah Hamzah, President and CEO of RUSS Consulting shared their personal experiences in becoming successful women leaders in the organizations. With years of cumulated experience, the powerhouse women engaged in the forum aptly titled Empowering Women through Business Leadership to shed light on some of the challenges faced by women leaders in the business environment.

This was the fourth installment of the NU Business Forum which features top academics and industry players who come together to discuss and share views on current issues and trends which are critical to the development of students’ academic journey. The forum also works as a means for students to gain industry perspective on industry trends which will further equip them with the needed knowledge before they venture into their chosen career paths.

The forum came at an appropriate time in light of the recent International Women’s Day celebrations. It allowed the speakers to present how women’s role in today’s business world has evolved and become critical to the development of women’s ability and conduct in taking up leadership roles. They were able to advise the audience which consisted mostly of young teenage girls on the traits needed to succeed in life.
