INTI Hosts Its First Virtual Graduation Ceremony

March 16, 2021

The COVID-19 pandemic affected various industries, events and social activities; one of it was graduation ceremonies, the most anticipated event of a graduate. Most universities across the globe did not let the crisis deter the young and hopeful minds of Class of 2020. The traditionally held in-person ceremonies were moved online, a one of a kind experience for many. Though it may not have the same impact, it still is a story that could be told some 50 years later.

INTI International University & Colleges organized a string of virtual graduation ceremonies with its partner universities recently.

INTI International University & Colleges (INTI) also joined the bandwagon of organizing virtual graduation ceremonies with its leading partner universities. Sheffield Hallam University and University of Hertfordshire together with INTI were two of the first few universities to commemorate their graduates virtually.

Professor Sir Chris Husbands, Vice Chancellor of Sheffield Hallam University said, “Sheffield Hallam University and INTI International University & Colleges have important things in common. We are both progressive and dynamic centres of learning. We are both committed to seeing our students succeed. We are both committed to making a difference in the world. Our partnership is built on the dedication of our staff and the enthusiasm of our students.”

He affirmed that INTI’s learning framework empowers students with the skillsets and experiences to work alongside rapid digital transformation and to make the most of global opportunities.

“Students at INTI build their capabilities to work with data, gain ICT knowledge, and obtain technical know-how through value-added progammes and certifications by digital leaders, and develop personal skills throughout their time with us,” added Professor Sir Chris.

At the event, he congratulated the graduates on their achievements.

“Congratulations, again, on your achievements. Take a moment today to reflect on your studies with us at Sheffield Hallam, celebrate and look forward with confidence to a bright and prosperous future. On behalf of everyone at the University, I wish you every success and happiness,” said the beaming Professor Sir Chris.

Meanwhile, the Vice Chancellor of University of Hertfordshire, Professor Quintin McKellar stated, “One of the greatest testaments to this meaningful partnership of nearly 30 years between University of Hertfordshire and INTI International University & Colleges are the opportunities it has afforded to students from various backgrounds to pursue an international education.”

“Whether studying in the UK or in Malaysia, UH students gain unique insights and perspectives into the world of global business, coupled with early exposure to leading organisations thanks to our shared vision on employability. We work in partnership with our students, international partners and industry to co-create their education, and ensure our graduates are fit for tomorrow’s world,” Professor Quintin further articulated.

He was also quoted saying that the University of Hertfordshire is extremely proud of its students and their marvellous achievements, which are all the more remarkable given the exceptional circumstances of the past year.

Graduation ceremonies are critical to recognize the struggles students have faced throughout their years of completed their diplomas and degrees. If not for such occasions to look forward to, they may seem to be demotivated. Hence, these virtual events are like making lemonade out of lemons; looking for positivity amongst what the world is facing right now.

Dr Jane Lim, Chief Executive of INTI International College Subang concluded, “You may succeed. You may fail. But make it your life’s work to transform the world you will inherit, because there is nothing more beautiful or more worthwhile than working to leave something better for humanity. Often times, we are caught up in the moment of doing multiple things at the same time that we forget to stop and think about the purpose of what we do. We are so driven by the need to attain success that we tend to forget there’s more to our life story than the end goal. So take a pause, breathe and evaluate what you are doing with your life. These little breaks and step backs are so important so that we don’t lose focus on what truly matters in life.”
