INTI and SV Auto Haus Partner in Student-Led Beach Clean-Up at Port Dickson

A student-led clean-up at Pantai Saujana, Port Dickson, became a platform for more than just environmental action—it was also a practical demonstration of how universities and industry can work hand-in-hand to support meaningful initiatives.

On 15 May 2025, the University of Hertfordshire (UH) Club at INTI International College Subang launched its first University Social Responsibility (USR) project of the year , a beach clean-up that involved 30 student volunteers. They were joined by the Dean, Heads of Programme, and the Club Advisor.

Backing their efforts were SV Auto Haus and the Lions Club, whose sponsorship enabled the club to secure the supplies, transportation, and safety equipment needed for the event.

“Our collaboration with INTI represents more than just a partnership—it’s a reflection of our long-term commitment to driving Malaysia towards a greener future,” said Lim Ker Lee, Sales Manager of MG Motor Puchong @ SV Auto Haus. “It allows us to support academic and community-based efforts that align with our mission to reduce carbon emissions and promote responsible energy use.”

The students worked closely with Majlis Perbandaran Port Dickson (MPPD) and SWM Environment to obtain the necessary permissions and ensure the clean-up followed proper safety and waste management procedures. With guidance from these local authorities, the team successfully carried out the activity smoothly and responsibly.

This was also the first time the UH Club took full responsibility for planning and executing an outreach initiative for 2025. From early coordination and stakeholder engagement to on-the-ground logistics, the students led the entire process.

“The planning process was as important as the clean-up itself,” said Amiel Aatif, Organising Chairperson and Treasurer of the UH Club. “We had a strong support system, and that made it possible to focus on execution without overlooking the details. I’m truly grateful to have had such a supportive team who ensured everything was in place and helped every step of the way.”

Following the event, UH Club representatives visited SV Auto Haus in Puchong to personally thank their industry partner for their support and to explore future opportunities for collaboration.
The experience gave students hands-on exposure to running a community initiative, building partnerships, and working with external stakeholders—skills that will serve them well beyond the classroom.
