The School of Business Communication (SBC) at INTI International College Subang (IICS) has once again showcased its commitment to social responsibility by organising the ‘Splash for a Cause 2.0’ event. Elevating their charity efforts this year, SBC partnered with MYDIN Mohamed Holdings (MYDIN) for a significant Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) collaboration. This partnership resulted in the delivery of 56 packets of essential grocery items to Pusat Kebajikan Masyarakat Subang Jaya, with an additional 10 packets reserved for direct distribution to beneficiary homes. Valued at RM7,000, these grocery packets included 5 kg of rice, 1 kg of cooking oil, sardines, instant noodles, biscuits, tea, coffee, salt, sugar, and flour, benefiting B40 households across Puchong, Klang, and Seri Kembangan. The deliveries were made on 13 July by SBC in collaboration with representatives from the welfare centre.

Fui Mun Hew, Dean of SBC, praised the students, stating, “They are young, and it’s our job to give them the right exposure. We guide them, but Malaysians, especially our students, have a genuine concern for society. They want to help, and seeing the difference they can make, even with small efforts, makes them happy to be part of projects like this.” She also expressed gratitude for the collaboration with MYDIN, adding, “Our students are eager to get involved and make a difference. When these three parties work together, we can maximise their potential.”

She further elaborated on the significance of ESG for SMEs, saying, “ESG is pretty new to SMEs, and that’s where we saw an opportunity with MYDIN. When we talked about collaborating using ESG principles, MYDIN was interested. They saw how this concept could help us work with the Welfare Department on such events.”
A MYDIN spokesperson commented, “At MYDIN, we believe in working together to empower the community for positive social impact. Our collaboration with INTI fits MYDIN Prihatin’s community empowerment and social responsibility mission. It helps us support great initiatives and get young people involved in social activism.”

We hope this spirit continues and inspires other colleges and universities to do the same.” He added, “To help them better, we need grocery vouchers, specialised wheelchairs for bedridden patients, and transportation services for OKU and needy individuals to access hospitals, and we hope to receive support from home service providers for these essential needs.”
