INTI International College Penang’s School of Business (SOBIZ) and Micron Technology’s Accounting Team joined forces to uplift the lives of children at Salvation Home Penang by raising over RM10,000 to provide laptops for their education. Held on 12 October 2024 at the campus car park and basketball court, the initiative leveraged Micron’s 1-to-1 matching programme, which doubled the RM5,000 raised by INTI students.

Overcoming challenges such as securing support from local SMEs and promoting event coupons, students, guided by their faculty, successfully engaged the local community and turned obstacles into opportunities for growth.
“This experience has been invaluable,” said Maheshwari Manogaran, a SOBIZ student. “It taught me the importance of teamwork and empathy, and knowing our efforts will enhance children’s education is deeply fulfilling.”
Micron’s support extended beyond funding, introducing creative elements like the basketball competition to boost participation. The event also fostered mentorship opportunities, creating connections between students and professionals and bridging the gap between education and industry.
