INTI and HeveaPac Partner for Student and Employee Advancement

INTI International University & Colleges and HeveaPac Sdn Bhd signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 May to establish a partnership to enhance career development, expand educational opportunities, and improve graduate employment prospects for both organisations.

Chong Kok Wai, CEO of INTI International University & Colleges, and Peh Ju Chai, Founder and Director of HeveaPac Sdn, signed the MoU as the key representatives of their respective organisations. Professor Dr. Shamsul Nahar Abdullah, Interim Pro Vice-Chancellor of Academic Operations at INTI, and Eswara Kumar, Human Resources & Administration Manager at HeveaPac, witnessed the signing, and representatives from both institutions also attended the ceremony.

Under this MoU, HeveaPac will provide career readiness training for INTI students through activities such as boot camps, Design Thinking mentorships, and potential scholarship opportunities. In return, INTI will provide consultancy, create a talent pipeline for HeveaPac, and provide training and workshops for HeveaPac’s employees.

Additionally, INTI offers subsidised fees for the Working Professional Programme (WPP) to HeveaPac employees and their family members, promoting continuous learning and accessible education for all.

In his speech, Kok Wai expressed enthusiasm for the collaboration, highlighting the university’s commitment to partnerships that bridge industry and academia. He stated, “INTI has focused, home-grown programmes that cater to all stages of education—local and international. We also focus on partnerships to share insights between industry and academics to gain insights as we share knowledge for our research and learning.”

HeveaPac, a manufacturing provider and a company committed to environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles, shares these values with INTI. Peh Ju Chai of HeveaPac expressed excitement about the collaboration, underlining their commitment to employee training and career development. “We don’t only provide jobs; we provide careers for our employees,” he remarked. “We have clients from all over the world, and educating our employees is part of our vision to cater to them.”

Peh also highlighted the importance of training and developing employees through meaningful partnerships for a company to succeed.
