What does it take to stand out on a global stage? For the team from INTI International College Penang—Muhamad Amirul Faiz Abd Ghani, Nur Raidah Radzi, Jeff Lim Chang Wei, and Muhamad Nazrin Mohd Sah—it was a combination of fresh ideas, meticulous planning, and a shared commitment to excellence.
Their research poster, which earned the Gold Award at the AICAD IID Virtual 2024 Research Poster Competition, represents a sophisticated blend of art and technology. Organized in collaboration with the Hebei Academy of Fine Arts, China, the competition brought together innovative projects from around the world. INTI’s winning entry captivated the judges with its creativity and technical depth, establishing the team as a strong contender on an international platform.

The project began with brainstorming sessions that prioritised originality and clarity. “We wanted to create something that would stand out for its impact and relevance,” said team leader Muhamad Amirul. From concept to execution, every detail was meticulously refined to ensure the final product communicated a compelling message.
Participants showcased their creativity and innovation by presenting their ideas on Instagram, impressing the panel of judges with their originality and depth.
Time constraints and the complexity of the project posed challenges, but teamwork proved to be a defining factor. “Each of us contributed our strengths to different aspects of the project,” shared Nur Raidah. “Collaboration made the process manageable and effective.”
The poster’s unique appeal lay in its seamless integration of visual design and technological precision, showcasing an approach that resonated across cultures. For Jeff Lim, representing INTI and Malaysia on an international stage was a meaningful experience. “It was a chance to demonstrate the level of creativity and innovation we bring to the table,” he noted.
Chief Executive of INTI International College Penang, Hemalatha Murugiah, emphasised the broader significance of the achievement. “This Gold Award reflects the talent and dedication INTI fosters. It’s also a reminder of what can be accomplished when creativity is matched with the right opportunities and guidance,” she said.
Beyond the accolades, the competition provided a platform for exchanging ideas and exploring fresh perspectives in art and design. The experience highlighted the team’s ability to innovate and inspired them to envision new possibilities for their creative endeavours.
A supportive audience cheered on participants as the judges carefully assessed the originality, execution, and presentation of each idea.
Reflecting on their success, team member Muhamad Nazrin expressed optimism for the future. “This has inspired us to take on more challenges and keep pushing the boundaries of our creativity,” he said.
