Distinguished guests, including Mohamed Gassama, the First Secretary from the Embassy of the Republic of Guinea; Aminata Camara, the First Secretary of cultural affairs from the same embassy; and Mr. Sufi Abdullahil Maruf, the First Secretary of the High Commission for the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, attended the event, adding significance to the theme of cultural exchange and collaboration.

Dr. Jane Lim, Chief Executive of IICS, welcomed the audience with an inspiring message: “What makes this Cultural Night truly special is the opportunity to witness students coming together to share and celebrate their unique cultures with pride.” She also announced that 30% of the proceeds from the event would be donated to the National Cancer Society of Malaysia in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, giving the night a meaningful cause beyond the celebration.

The night began with a symbolic ceremony. Honoured guests, including Dr Jane, placed their hands on a globe while 63 national flags were displayed on a screen. This visual representation of the diverse nationalities within the IICS student body beautifully set the tone for the evening’s theme of unity through diversity.
