Charlotte Loke, an accomplished swimmer and IT foundation graduate from INTI International College Subang, once again proved her talent at the SUKMA XXI 2024 in Sarawak. Representing Wilayah Persekutuan, Charlotte reached the finals in every event she entered, showcasing her determination and skill at the Pandelela Rinong Aquatic Centre in Kuching.
Charlotte’s journey to this achievement wasn’t just about medals but about embracing the experience and finding balance. Fresh from completing her foundation programme, she is set to begin her degree at INTI in October 2024. Competing in Kuching brought a sense of calm for Charlotte, who appreciated the city’s slower pace compared to the hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur. “I had no problem competing there,” she said. “I enjoyed the more relaxed environment.”
Her dedication paid off when she clinched bronze in the 100m Women’s Butterfly and gold in the 4x100m medley relay. “It was fun and memorable competing in SUKMA. I loved the atmosphere, with supporters from each state cheering with drums and horns,” Charlotte recalled, reflecting on the energy that fueled her success.

But beyond the medals, Charlotte’s story is one of teamwork. During the relay, she turned pre-race nerves into motivation, pushing herself to perform at her best alongside her teammates. “In a relay, it’s all about working together,” she shared. “Discipline and balancing studies with training are important but being a supportive and cooperative team member is key to winning.”
Charlotte’s ability to balance sports and academics has always been a priority. She trains up to seven times a week, each session lasting two hours, and she includes both swimming and dryland workouts, so she has honed her discipline. Despite her rigorous training schedule, Charlotte remains excited about the challenges of starting her degree. “I’ve been balancing both since high school, so I’m confident I can manage,” she said.
Her achievements don’t stop here. Charlotte will return to the pool at the 41st National Inter-Club Swimming Championships President’s Cup in December, determined to continue pushing her limits.
For Charlotte, success isn’t just about winning medals—it’s about teamwork, balance, and the love of the sport. And as she prepares for her next competition, INTI couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.
