Auto and Fashion Extravaganza Marks Launch of INTI’s Silver Anniversary Celebration

October 25, 2011

INTI’s 25th Anniversary celebration held at INTI International College Subang (IICS) got off to a rip-roaring start with a host of activities for auto and fashion enthusiasts.

Product of a collaboration between IICS, PJ College of Art and Design (PJCAD) and INTI students, the event marked INTI’s growth from strength to strength over the years as a leading education provider in the country.

Revving it up: Sparks fly as the driver hits the accelerator of this modified Telstar.

First in the line-up of features was Auto Fiesta, a showcase of high end models that included Ferrari. Revving things up were a competition for modified cars with the best interior and exterior designs and a search for student models for the chance to appear on the covers of popular auto magazines.

“Auto Fiesta was a learning experience for the organizers – including myself, Teoh Weng Hong, Ong Hwei Ping, Xaron Ong and everyone else who helped out,” said Muhammad Saiful Haq, a student of IICS and Auto Fiesta’s organizing chairperson. “The exposure was something which can rarely be attained at college level.”

Event sponsors included MicroMart, Pantai Bharu, Motorsports Playground, Redbull, Hypertune & Shift, Qmax, Ultra Racing, Euphoria and Al Haq Dimensi Niaga.

“INTI’s 25 years is a strong testament of our commitment to provide excellence in education. And we aim to continually move forward and remain relevant to the industry we prepare our graduates for. In fact, in the course of our work here at INTI, we are fortunate to meet up with our alumni time and again who are now part of the industry they work in. This makes us feel that there is an INTIan in every sector of industry, if not company,” said Dr Anucia Jeganathan, President of IICS at the launch of the celebration.

Dark matter: A line-up of glamorous fashion by PJCAD’s student designers.

A glamorous fashion show by student designers of PJCAD provided a fitting finale for the evening’s celebration. “A Blast of Dark Collision” featured a captivating array of somber yet sexy designs incorporating bold and geometrical outlines. The collection, carefully crafted with embroideries, textures and playful manipulation of construction, reflected 18th century, oriental and Hollywood influences.

“PJCAD is proud to be a part of the INTI family,” said David Liew, Chief Executive of PJCAD. “With our emphasis on the 3E philosophy of Expose-Explore-Experience, we encourage our students to immerse themselves in the ever-changing, inspiring world of art and design – in line with INTI’s approach to providing world-class education.”

As part of the INTI Education Group, IICS and PJCAD share the Group’s mission of providing quality world-class career-focused education that will enrich every student’s intellectual, cultural and social perspectives. INTI is part of Laureate International Universities, the world’s largest private education network with a presence in 28 countries, with more than 60 accredited universities and 130 campuses, serving more than 650,000 students globally.
