A Day of Kindness and Giving with INTI UH

March 7, 2025

The Centre for University of Hertfordshire (UH) Programmes at INTI International College Subang organised a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at Lovely Nursing Home in Petaling Jaya on 28 February 2025. The initiative united faculty members and students in a collective effort to support the residents, reinforcing INTI UH’s commitment to community engagement.

In the weeks leading up to the visit, students and staff gathered essential supplies, including pantry staples, medicines, and household cleaning items, to contribute to the nursing home. Beyond the donations, the day was about fostering meaningful interactions. Volunteers spent time with the residents, exchanging stories and participating in light-hearted activities. Laughter, warm conversations, and shared moments made the experience fulfilling for everyone involved.

Lai Mun Loon, Dean of the Centre for UH Programmes, expressed appreciation for those who played a role in making the initiative a success. “This effort reflects compassion and generosity within our faculty, staff, and students,” he said. “It’s heartening to see how small contributions, when combined, can create a meaningful impact.”

Students like Chee Jia Xi found the experience deeply rewarding. “Seeing the joy and appreciation on the residents’ faces made all the effort worthwhile,” she shared. “It reminded me that kindness is not just about giving but about being present for others.”

The visit left a lasting impression on many participants, offering a fresh perspective on the value of time, conversation, and simple acts of care. Listening to the residents’ stories and sharing their joy showed that making a difference doesn’t always require grand gestures. Sometimes, showing up and connecting is enough.
