INTI supports initiatives in promoting employability and creating job opportunities for deserving students. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed with one of Malaysia’s top business process services provider, Teledirect Telecommerce Sdn. Bhd. (Teledirect), where scholarships worth RM10,000 per student were provided to 10 final year international students from INTI.
Employer Projects
Industry projects play a crucial part in allowing students to utilize their skills and knowledge from lessons taught within the modules, optimizing design-thinking skills (a methodology to solve complex problems and find desirable solutions) in providing solutions for issues faced in the actual industries. INTI has collaborated with over 450 top-tiered employers across a host of industries such as Microsoft, General Electric, Oracle, Mercedes-Benz and many more to ensure industry relevant competencies.
Boot Camps & Workshops
Supplementary boot camps and workshop sessions were organized at INTI to boost students’ potential in optimizing their skills sets and expose them to the actual industries through collaborations with top-tier companies, resulting in challenge-driven events such as Google Ignite, Microsoft Boot Camp, Hyatt Regency Kinabalu’s Hospitality Boot Camp and more.
INTI Leadership Series
The leadership series provides students an opportunity to hear first-hand and gain insights from successful top leaders of established organisations. Former speakers who participated in this programme were Managing Director from IBM Malaysia, Partner & Asia Pacific Managing Director of Frost & Sullivan, Country Head of Google, President and CEO of Siemens Malaysia, Managing Director of IDC Asia/Pacific, amongst many others.
Industry Attachment
Hospitality and tourism students from INTI receive opportunities to build on their technical expertise, through INTI’s MoU with Hilton Malaysia. The MOU includes the provision of five-star workshops to hospitality students, empowering them with the standards and quality expected by the globally renowned brand. INTI also promotes Faculty Industry Attachment programmes where lecturers are seconded to top industry partners for several months, journeying through an experience to adapt into a company and its operations. This programme was held with IKEA Damansara, and many more.
Industry Advisory Board
Industry Advisory Boards (IAB) were established to call upon active and influential professionals as well as recognised leaders in each industry ranging from Business, Engineering, Hospitality, Art and Design, and Information Technology sectors, to advise the academic boards on curriculum design and course delivery. IBM Malaysia, PwC Malaysia, GE Healthcare are some of the list of active members of the board.
Industry Certifications
IBM-ICE is IBM’s Innovation Center for Education (ICE), which develops customized industry oriented curriculum to skillfully nurture and mould the students into industry-ready professionals. Upon completion of all IBM courses, students will be eligible for an IBM Badge, along with an IBM-ICE transcript. INTI’s collaboration with SAS Institute Sdn Bhd (SAS); presently a leading organization in predictive and advanced analytics, will also look at graduates preparing to meet Malaysia’s current needs of increasing digital talents. Students who undergo this short course are awarded a certificate of completion from SAS.
Employer Centric Curriculum
INTI International University (INTI) has integrated Building Information Modeling (BIM) modules into its Quantity Surveying undergraduate programme since 2016. INTI is among the first private universities in the country to collaborate with Glodon Company Limited, an internationally recognised industrial software system provider whose BIM software, Cubicost, is widely used among construction industry players in Malaysia, including the Malaysian Ministry of Works (Kementerian Kerja Raya or KKR) and Kerjaya Prospek (M) Sdn. Bhd.
INTI International University has also incorporated the Alibaba Global E-Commerce Talent (GET) programme into its business programmes. Developed by the global e-commerce giant, the Alibaba GET programme enables students to deep dive into e-commerce, to learn what it takes to establish and sustain an online business and gain access into the Alibaba’s thriving ecosystem.
