A key aspect of this partnership is INTI’s role as a research partner in integrated agriculture and R&D, reinforcing the link between academia and industry. InAgMa will also support INTI’s efforts in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives and the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), equipping students with industry-aligned knowledge and practical exposure to global sustainability standards.

The MoU outlines several areas of collaboration, including joint research in biotechnology, artificial intelligence, and smart agriculture. InAgMa has also expressed interest in working with INTI’s academic teams to publish collaborative research in reputable journals and conference proceedings. Additionally, INTI will assess industry challenges and explore solutions through funded research projects, providing students and faculty real-world problem-solving opportunities.

Malaysia is among the few countries without agricultural insurance. InAgMa is working to address this gap as part of its mission to enhance food security and agricultural resilience. Through this partnership, INTI and InAgMa will explore initiatives that contribute to the long-term sustainability of Malaysia’s agriculture sector.

“This collaboration strengthens the bridge between academia and industry, equipping students with hands-on experience in real-world projects, industry research, and mentorship,” said Professor Dr. Shamsul Nahar Abdullah, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Academic Operations) at INTI International University, during the signing ceremony. “Beyond student development, our partnership with InAgMa will drive research innovation and support continuous learning through upskilling opportunities. Together, we aim to tackle industry challenges and advance sustainable agriculture.”

“Our vision is to build a sustainable food chain for future generations,” said Ts. Dr. Paul Selvam Devadoss, Chairman of InAgMa. “INTI’s collaboration with InAgMa ensures that every Malaysian and their children and grandchildren will have access to food security. We look forward to engaging with INTI’s students and faculty through research, discussions, and micro-credential courses to exchange ideas and expertise.”

The MoU was signed by Prof. Dr. Shamsul Nahar Abdullah and Dr. Arasu Raman, Director of Social Impact & International Relations and Collaboration Centre at INTI International University, alongside Ts. Dr. Paul Selvam Devadoss and Devan Subramaniam, Secretary of InAgMa.
