A Year of Global Recognition and Academic Growth for INTI International University

In 2024, INTI International University achieved significant recognition and growth, solidifying its position as a leading institution in Malaysia and beyond. The university was honoured with the prestigious Rising Star Award in the QS World University Rankings 2025, becoming the only recipient in Malaysia and one of just six institutions globally to receive this distinction. This achievement highlights INTI’s rapid advancement, climbing from 556 in the global rankings in 2024 to 516 this year. Regionally, INTI rose from 220 to 170 in the QS World University Rankings: Asia, reflecting its strengthened academic reputation and international engagement.

In 2024, INTI International University hosted 12 conferences across diverse disciplines, including sustainability, technology, healthcare, and education. Faculty Contributions to Global Conversations

INTI’s faculty members represented the university at 26 international events in 2024, presenting research and building networks across the academic community.

Professor Dr. Walton Wider, Head of Programme from the Faculty of Business and Communication, shared his insights on “Internationalisation in the University in Malaysia: A Perspective from INTI IU” at the Asian Science Deans Forum in the Philippines. Dr. Wider reflected on his experience, “The forum provided an excellent platform to connect with leaders and exchange perspectives that inspire future collaborations.”


Prof. Dr. S. Geetha Subramaniam presented at Prague’s 12th World Congress of Nursing Education and Practice 2024.

Professor Dr. S. Geetha Subramaniam, from the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences, delivered a keynote address at the 12th World Congress of Nursing Education and Practice in Prague. Her presentation explored antibiotic resistance and the potential of indigenous herbs as alternatives or complements to conventional antibiotics.

These contributions are part of INTI’s ongoing efforts to advance impactful research while fostering meaningful academic partnerships on a global scale.

Enhancing Global Perspectives: Student Mobility Programmes

In 2024, INTI welcomed 1,779 inbound students, offering them a chance to experience Malaysia’s rich cultural and academic environment. Through partnerships with universities in countries like Indonesia, India, China, and Pakistan, the university facilitated exchanges that enriched cultural understanding and educational experiences.

On 23 November, the IPRMSA Fun Run, organised by INTI’s Mass Communication students, brought together inbound participants from Universitas Negeri Surabaya, Indonesia, and local students. The event combined cultural exchange with hands-on learning, helping students hone their event management skills while fostering international connections.

In addition to participating in academic programs, inbound students engaged in collaborative projects and extracurricular activities, enhancing their holistic development and preparing them for a globalised world.
