INTI Sweeps 8 Awards at the Private Education Excellence Awards 2024

INTI made a memorable mark at the Private Education Excellence Awards 2024 by collecting eight prestigious awards across various categories. The awards ceremony, held at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur, on 1 August 2024, recognised INTI’s dedication to providing high-quality education and fostering innovation.


INTI University & Colleges representatives proudly showcase the award certificates and trophies won at the Private Education Excellence Awards 2024 at the Mandarin Oriental, Kuala Lumpur.

One of the highlights was the Outstanding Institutional Award for Engineering Programmes, proudly received by INTI’s Chief Executive Officer, Chong Kok Wai, on behalf of INTI International College Penang and INTI International College Subang. This award shows INTI’s commitment to delivering top-tier engineering education.


INTI Chief Executive Officer Chong Kok Wai proudly receives the Outstanding Institutional Award for Engineering Programmes on behalf of INTI International College Penang and INTI International College Subang.

Another notable achievement was Professor Dr Shamsul Nahar Abdullah, INTI International University’s Pro Vice Chancellor of Academic Operations, receiving the Long Service Award. In his inspiring speech, he shared his extensive industry experience. He mentioned that Stanford University recognised his research, placing him among the top 2% of scientists in business, management, accounting, and economics in 2023.

  • Punitha Sivanantham – Outstanding Contribution to Education & Training Award
  • Associate Professor Dr Lee Hoong Pin – National Outstanding Young Innovator Award
  • Professor Dr. Ho Soon Min – National Outstanding Reviewer Award
  • Associate Professor EUR ING. Ir. Ts. Dr. Mohamad Shakri Bin Mohmad Shariff Ceng – Certificate of Merit Award

These honours highlight INTI’s significant impact on private education, showcasing its achievements in various fields and commitment to fostering academic and professional growth. “I would like to express my sincere appreciation to all those who participated in this year’s EDUCOOP Private Education Excellence Awards. Congratulations to all the winners,” said Surendran Elangoven, the organising chairman. He also thanked the panel of judges for their hard work in selecting the winners.

The Private Education Excellence Awards, organised by Koperasi Pendidikan Swasta Malaysia Berhad (EDUCOOP), celebrate outstanding achievements in the private education sector. The awards recognise excellence in teaching, innovation, management, and institutional performance, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration among private educational institutions.
