INTI’s Diploma in Financial Informatics Equips Tomorrow’s FinTech Professionals

In partnership with eTiqa Digital Solutions, the programme’s preferred industry partner, this initiative aims to cultivate a new generation of FinTech (financial technology) professionals. By leveraging FinTech innovation and integration, students are empowered to create significant value for the financial industry and embark on a transformative journey, unlocking endless opportunities within the dynamic FinTech ecosystem.

Programme Highlights
• Fintech Innovation Project: This unique component requires students to work on projects directly related to FinTech, including collaborations with a preferred industry partner, eTiqa Digital Solutions.
• Practical Curriculum: The program features a comprehensive and practical curriculum encompassing finance, data mining, business intelligence, and analytics. By seamlessly integrating technology with finance, this hands-on approach ensures that students acquire theoretical knowledge and develop the skills and confidence to apply them in real-world situations. This preparation equips them for a successful career in the finance industry.
• Future Prospects: Graduates of the program can explore a wide range of career paths in the finance industry. These include positions such as Junior Business Analyst, Junior Financial Advisor, Risk Management Officer, Analytics and Business Intelligence Junior Executive, Finance Officer, Banking Officer, and UX/UI Junior Executive. This diverse array of opportunities underscores the versatility and market demand for the skills acquired through the Diploma in Financial Informatics program.

Students can propose and present financial technology solutions to real and simulated business and financial institution scenarios. Projects have included proposals on engaging Millennials and Gen-Z using eTiqa’s mobile application and creating reward programmes through the same platform. These projects offer invaluable real-world experience and the chance to present completed business solutions to the top management of eTiqa Digital Solution.

Katherine Lim, Head of the Programme, expressed enthusiasm for the practical experiences provided by the programme, stating, “The students have worked on various projects, such as a business proposal on how to engage Millennials and Gen-Z using eTiqa’s mobile application.”
Current student Low Zi Xuan emphasised the integration of finance and technology in the programme, stating, “I’ve always had an interest in finance, but delving into Information and Communication Technology (ICT) made the subject even more captivating and impactful. The programming courses, such as building a vending machine programme using C++ in Visual Studio 2022, were especially fulfilling and helped cement my grasp of programming concepts.”

Jacklyn Goh, an alumna, highlighted the impact of the employer project. She shared, “Beyond academics, the employer project is my favourite part of the course. It provides valuable experiences where we engage directly with managerial professionals, refining our communication and problem-solving skills while bridging the gap between theoretical knowledge and real-world application.”
Nicole Ng, another alumna, remarked, “Completing the Diploma in Financial Informatics was a game-changer for me. It seamlessly combines finance and technology, giving me the skills to excel in today’s financial world. I highly recommend it for anyone looking to advance their career in finance with a tech edge.”
