We are absolutely thrilled to share an incredible piece of news with all of you! Our exceptional CE students have once again proven their mettle and brought glory to INTI International University at the prestigious Structural Earthquake Stability Competition 2023 (SES2023).

Under the guidance of Associate Professor Ts. Dr. Lee Hoong Pin from FEQS, our outstanding teams, comprising of Tan Xin Kai, Hew He Jing, Soh Ang Xuan, Cheyenne Loh, Chong Chun Han, Lim Siew Hong, Lee Ming Hwa, and Khoo Kian Sim, showcased unparalleled skills and dedication throughout the competition. Their remarkable performance earned them the championship title, making us immensely proud! In recognition of their outstanding achievement, our victorious teams were bestowed with a well-deserved cash award of RM1800 and certificates of excellence.

The Structural Earthquake Stability Competition, organized by the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) Student Chapter – UTAR, Institution of Engineers, Malaysia (IEM) Student Section – UTAR, and the Department of Civil Engineering, Lee Kong Chian Faculty of Engineering and Science (LKC FES), serves as an annual national platform to promote seismic design awareness, foster practical solutions, and encourage creativity and innovation in structural earthquake stability research. This year’s event, held on 8th July 2023 at the Sungai Long Campus, witnessed intense competition among 19 teams representing various public and private universities in Malaysia, including UM, UTP, UTM, UKM, UTAR, SEGI, UCSI, Manipal, and more.

Our INTI Team’s scaled-down building model exhibited exceptional resilience against the highest levels of seismic excitation, emerging as the standout performer amidst tough competition. Their dedication, tireless practice sessions, and late-night discussions with their advisor undoubtedly played a pivotal role in this well-deserved victory.
