INTI International University Hosts MOHE’s MAGNET 2026, Celebrating Cultural Diversity and Inclusion

INTI International University, in collaboration with Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), hosted MAGNET 2026, an initiative by the Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) that brought together international students from diverse cultures and backgrounds to celebrate cultural diversity, inclusion and cross-cultural understanding.

Held at INTI International University, Nilai, the event was graced by YB Dato’ Seri Diraja Dr. Zambry Abd Kadir, Minister of Higher Education, whose presence highlighted the importance of fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for international students in Malaysia.

MAGNET 2026 featured vibrant cultural performances, traditional activities and cultural showcases, giving students the opportunity to share their heritage, experience different traditions and connect with peers from around the world. The activities created meaningful opportunities for cultural exchange, encouraging students to learn from different perspectives while building connections across cultures and nationalities.

For INTI, supporting initiatives such as MAGNET 2026 reflects the university’s commitment to creating an inclusive and connected community where diversity is valued and students from different backgrounds have opportunities to participate, engage and learn from one another. Such efforts also contribute to the broader goals of sustainable development, particularly SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, by promoting inclusive learning environments, cultural understanding and equal opportunities for participation.

Through its continued support for initiatives that bring diverse communities together, INTI recognises the role of higher education in contributing to a more inclusive and sustainable society. Providing students with opportunities to engage across cultures not only enriches their university experience but also encourages greater understanding, respect and collaboration within an increasingly interconnected world.

As the host institution, INTI International University was honoured to contribute to MAGNET 2026 alongside MOHE and USIM, supporting an initiative that celebrates the diversity of Malaysia’s international student community and strengthens connections across borders. The event reflects the value of creating spaces where different cultures can come together, share experiences and build a stronger sense of community.
