The REALITI Project was introduced at SJKT Desa Cempaka to improve Malay language literacy among Year 2 students. Many students face challenges in mastering Bahasa Melayu due to limited exposure outside school. This project uses Virtual Reality (VR) as an interactive learning tool to make lessons more engaging and effective.
The 12-week programme involves 10 selected students and focuses on basic literacy skills, including letter recognition, word formation, reading, and simple sentence construction. VR-based activities allow students to learn through immersive and hands-on experiences, making the learning process more enjoyable and easier to understand.
The project adopts a structured approach with weekly sessions and pre- and post-assessments to measure progress. Early observations show that VR encourages active participation, improves understanding, and builds students’ confidence in using the Malay language.
Overall, the REALITI Project demonstrates strong potential in reducing literacy gaps and enhancing learning outcomes. It also provides a model that can be expanded to other schools in the future.
