A study tour to Universitas Airlangga, Surabaya, Indonesia, was organised to provide students with an immersive international educational experience focused on academic collaboration, cultural exchange, and innovative learning approaches related to marine biodiversity and technology.
The programme adopts a hybrid format, with online academic sessions scheduled from 20 to 21 April 2026, followed by the on-site segment beginning on 26 April 2026 in Surabaya, Indonesia. Throughout the programme, students will participate in academic discussions, campus tours, workshops, industry visits, and networking sessions with faculty members and researchers.
The initiative aims to expose students to international teaching methodologies and innovative curriculum practices while strengthening adaptability in diverse educational and cultural settings. The programme also seeks to enhance critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and cross-cultural collaboration skills among participants.
In addition, the study tour is expected to foster stronger academic partnerships, including opportunities for joint research initiatives and future student exchange programmes between institutions.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals), the initiative promotes international knowledge exchange, educational innovation, and global collaboration in higher education.
