Healthy Plate, Bright Future: Nutrition Awareness for Preschoolers was conducted to introduce children aged 4–6 years to the importance of healthy and balanced eating habits through colourful fruits and vegetables. The initiative reflects INTI International University’s commitment to community engagement, knowledge sharing, and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in promoting good health and well-being from an early age.
The Faculty of Health and Life Sciences (FHLS), INTI International University collaborated with Qdees Kindergarten to deliver this programme. Foundation in Science (CFSI) students developed a short 3-minute educational video designed to help preschoolers understand the importance of different colours in fruits and vegetables and how they contribute to a healthy diet.
The session involved around 40 preschool students and teachers. A simple icebreaking activity led by seven CFSI students encouraged interaction and engagement among the children. This was followed by hands-on activities where children learned to identify and differentiate between healthy and unhealthy food choices in a fun and interactive way. Support from Qdees management, including the provision of colourful fruits, further enhanced the learning experience.
By the end of the programme, the children showed increased awareness of healthy eating habits and were able to recognise the importance of food variety in their daily diet. At the same time, CFSI students gained meaningful experience in communication, teamwork, and educational outreach while engaging with young learners.
Overall, the initiative successfully promoted early nutrition education while strengthening collaboration between INTI International University and Qdees Kindergarten, with positive interest for future engagement.
