On the 19th of April 2023, Wednesday, an impactful event titled “Move with Ease, Age with Grace” took place from 8.00am to 12.30pm at Pusat Jagaan Wong & Chong S/B in Seremban. This noteworthy event was organized by a group of dedicated physiotherapy students and lecturers from the Physiotherapy program at FHLS, INTI International University. With the invaluable collaboration of Junior Chamber International, Seremban, the event garnered even more support and participation from the community.
Undoubtedly, this project presented an outstanding opportunity for the physiotherapy students to acquire practical, hands-on experience while being exposed to real-life situations. Furthermore, it served as a platform for them to develop essential skills such as effective communication, self-confidence, charisma, and leadership qualities in a public setting. By actively engaging in this event, these future healthcare professionals were able to enhance their abilities and make a positive impact on the lives of others.
The primary objective of this project was to extend free physiotherapy services, health screenings, and treatments to the elderly residents of the center. This noble initiative not only demonstrated the compassion and dedication of the organizers but also exemplified their commitment to serving the community as healthcare providers. The event received widespread recognition and was even featured in the local newspaper, Nan Yang, which further increased its reach and impact
By offering free physiotherapy, the event aimed to improve the quality of life for the elderly residents. Through various therapeutic techniques and exercises, the physiotherapy students and lecturers sought to alleviate pain, enhance mobility, and promote overall well-being. Additionally, the health screenings provided valuable insights into the residents’ health status, enabling early detection and prevention of potential issues.
