Heavy metal (Cu2+) removal from wastewater by metal-organic framework composite adsorbent: Simulation-based- artificial neural network and response surface methodology

Highlights:

  • Optimize and predict heavy metal (Cu2+) removal from wastewater by using a MOF nanocomposite.
  • Cu2+ removal in solution has been modeled by RSM and ANN algorithms.
  • ANN was obtained for modeling RE based on ion and mixing time with R2 = 0.9996.
  • MOFs possess conventional porous materials like carbon-based compounds and zeolites.
  • MOF technique is the outstanding removal of heavy metals from wastewater.
