STACT Club Joins MySaveFood @Bazar Ramadan Initiative to Combat Food Waste

In a proactive move to address food waste during Ramadan bazaars, the Student Action Club (STACT Club) at INTI International University has recently partnered with the MySaveFood @Bazar Ramadan initiative. This collaborative effort, spearheaded by Pemuda GEMA and supported by the Solid Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp), Majlis Perbandaran Sepang, and the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) Sepang, aims to rescue surplus food and beverages remaining after the bazaar’s sales.

The initiative focuses on salvaging excess food items and distributing them to specific locations, including INTI hostels and several mosques around Nilai, Negeri Sembilan. Since its inception, the program has made a significant impact on both the environment and the community by raising awareness about food sustainability and promoting responsible consumption practices among students and the broader populace.

Through the collective efforts of STACT Club and its partners, over 400kg of food and beverages have been rescued, effectively preventing wastage and ensuring that individuals in need have access to nutritious meals. This commendable endeavor underscores the importance of collaborative action in addressing pressing societal and environmental challenges.

The STACT Club’s participation in the MySaveFood @Bazar Ramadan initiative exemplifies its commitment to fostering positive change within the community while advocating for sustainable practices. As the initiative continues to gain momentum, it is poised to make a lasting difference in reducing food waste and promoting food security during Ramadan and beyond.
