INTI International University’s Microbiology Class Hosts Fun-Filled Event on Healthy Eating for Preschoolers

As part of INTI International University’s dedication to advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), the January 2025 Microbiology class organized an engaging University Community Service (USR) project titled “Good Bacteria, Food and Well Being – Connecting the Dots”. The event took place on 17th March 2025 at 3Q MRC Nilai, bringing together students and preschoolers for an educational and fun-filled day focused on healthy eating and well-being.

Under the guidance of Dr. Lalita Ambigai Sivasamugham, Prof. Dr. Geetha Subramaniam, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Adura Mohd Adnan, the event aimed to educate preschoolers about the importance of healthy eating. Through a captivating puppet show, the children were introduced to the concept of good bacteria and how it plays a vital role in maintaining our overall health.

The excitement of the day continued as the preschoolers participated in an engaging salad-making competition. With great enthusiasm, the children created their own healthy salads while enjoying snacks, all while learning about the importance of nutritious food choices.

This initiative not only encouraged children to develop healthy eating habits but also provided undergraduates with the opportunity to enhance their science communication skills. By engaging with young audiences, they learned how to simplify and effectively communicate complex scientific concepts.

The event was a great success, fostering community engagement and reinforcing the significance of good health practices from an early age. It showcased the university’s ongoing commitment to promoting well-being and environmental sustainability through education and outreach programs.
