English Clinic Strengthens Language Skills Among Young Learners is a University Social Responsibility (USR) initiative organised by INTI International University at SRJK(T) Nilai. The programme focuses on supporting underperforming lower primary students aged seven to nine in improving their English reading, writing, and communication skills.
Led by Ts. Dr. Thulasi Manoharan together with seven other staff members, the initiative aims to strengthen students’ language proficiency while building their confidence in communicating in English. Through engaging learning activities and guided support, students are encouraged to develop greater interest and motivation in learning the language.
The programme is expected to improve students’ English proficiency and help them communicate more confidently with people from different backgrounds. In addition, the initiative seeks to create a positive learning environment that supports literacy development and encourages active participation in the classroom.
Aligned with Sustainable Development Goal 4 (Quality Education), the English Clinic contributes towards improving access to quality education and enhancing literacy skills among young learners. Overall, the programme reflects INTI International University’s commitment to community engagement and educational support for school students.
The Game On event was planned and executed by foundation students, who fully embraced a project-based learning approach. Through this process, they gained real-life experience in organizing and managing an event. In the morning session, three primary school students from SRJK (T) Nilai, SRJK (C) Putra Nilai, and SK Desa Cempaka—mainly underperforming learners—were invited to participate. The afternoon session involved participation from INTI students, staff, and lecturers.
The event helped instill values of diversity and inclusion among children and boosted their confidence levels, while also giving INTI students and staff the opportunity to engage meaningfully with the community.
