A Visiting Scholar programme was conducted at Universitas Sriwijaya, Palembang, Indonesia, from 21 to 22 April 2025. The programme included a series of academic activities aimed at knowledge sharing, research development, and international collaboration.
On 21 April 2025, a public lecture titled “Women in Engineering” was delivered in conjunction with the Kartini Day commemoration in Indonesia. The session highlighted the contributions of Raden Ajeng Kartini, a prominent advocate for women’s rights and education. Her legacy continues to inspire gender equality and the empowerment of women in education and society, and her contributions are celebrated annually as Kartini Day.
On the same day, a workshop titled “Writing a Doctoral Dissertation in Engineering: Structure, Clarity and Impact” was conducted. The session focused on essential components and best practices for producing high-quality engineering dissertations, with emphasis on originality, analytical rigour, and strong methodological design.
On 22 April 2025, a public lecture on “AI in the Engineering Field” was delivered, highlighting the transformative role of artificial intelligence in engineering. The session discussed how AI enhances decision-making, improves operational efficiency, and supports the development of smart infrastructure systems.
Overall, the programme provided valuable academic exchange and strengthened international collaboration in engineering education and research.
