EcoRise Southeast Asia 2025 🌏

Empowering Climate Action through Education, Innovation, and Youth Collaboration

Overview

EcoRise Southeast Asia 2025 is INTI International University’s flagship regional initiative that unites students, educators, and communities across ASEAN in addressing climate change through education-driven action. Anchored in INTI’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) — particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 13 (Climate Action), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals) — the project transforms classrooms into living laboratories for environmental impact.

Launched in 2025 under INTI’s ESG Centre of Excellence, EcoRise Southeast Asia builds on INTI’s vision of creating socially conscious, environmentally responsible, and globally connected graduates who drive sustainability beyond borders.

To cultivate a generation of young Southeast Asian changemakers who are empowered with the knowledge, skills, and passion to lead effective climate action and environmental sustainability initiatives through education.

  • To integrate climate education and environmental innovation into the curriculum of partner schools and universities.
  • To create a regional network of eco-schools committed to measurable sustainability outcomes.
  • To inspire youth-led projects that address real-world environmental challenges through science, technology, and community engagement.
  • To showcase and replicate best practices across ASEAN countries through collaborative learning and cross-border mentorship.

Project Scope

EcoRise Southeast Asia 2025 is structured in three progressive stages designed to ensure inclusivity, innovation, and measurable impact:

Stage 1

Stage 1: Ideation & Awareness

Students and educators participate in workshops, webinars, and climate literacy sessions facilitated by INTI’s ESG experts. Participants identify local environmental challenges and propose innovative solutions through concept papers.

Outcome: 69 entries received from 6 Southeast Asia countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Timor-Leste).

Stage 2

Stage 2: Implementation & Showcase

Shortlisted projects move to the video submission and field visit phase, where teams demonstrate real-world implementation of their ideas. · Field collaborations are guided by INTI mentors and local community partners. · ESG MoUs have been signed with high schools such as Sri Sathya Sai School (Laos) and Zhong Ying International School (Cambodia), officiated by ambassadors and education directors.

Stage 3

Stage 3: Regional Recognition & Replication (2025)

Top-performing teams will present their innovations at the EcoRise 2025 Regional Summit, where selected initiatives will be integrated into INTI’s Sustainability shared globally.
