Bangkok played host to the prestigious Bangkok International Intellectual Property, Invention, Innovation, and Technology Exposition 2023 (IPITEx 2023) from the 1st to the 6th of February. The event, held in conjunction with Thailand Inventors’ Day 2023, was organized by the National Research Council of Thailand (NRCT) and the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation. The exposition attracted inventors, scientists, and researchers from all over the world, including a notable delegation from Malaysia.
Led by IR. Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie from INTI International University, the Malaysian delegation comprised 215 talented scientists and inventors from various universities, polytechnics, and schools. Their presence left a lasting impression on attendees, including representatives from the Embassy of Malaysia in Bangkok. The ingenuity displayed by Malaysia’s inventors sparked inspiration among both local and international participants.
IPITEx 2023 boasted an impressive array of inventions, with more than 1000 groundbreaking innovations showcased from over 24 countries. The event featured over 500 presentations, creating a platform for inventors and researchers to share their work and exchange knowledge. The atmosphere was electric, fostering an environment of collaboration and creativity.
The Malaysian team’s dedication and innovative spirit yielded remarkable results. They earned a total of 10 Golds, 16 Silvers, and 40 Bronzes, showcasing their exceptional talent and commitment to pushing the boundaries of invention and innovation. The delegation also received more than 10 Special Awards presented by countries such as Poland, Hong Kong, Britain, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines, Egypt, and Japan, recognizing the outstanding contributions made by Malaysian inventors.
The Thailand Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation expressed its firm commitment to promoting and supporting the use of inventions and innovations by international inventors and researchers. By providing a platform like IPITEx 2023, the ministry aims to facilitate the development of inventions and nurture future generations of inventors.
Prof. Dr. Leong Wai Yie’s outstanding contributions to the Bangkok International Invention Exposition 2023 exemplify the spirit of innovation and serve as a testament to his leadership skills and unwavering dedication to advancing the field of invention.
